How do I get over being slightly anti-social?

So I just finished a semester at university, first year. I don't live on campus but have had plenty of opportunities to make friends.

I have made zero friends, I barely even spoke to anyone outside of group work.

It causes me physical discomfort to even ask someone for a pen.

Also, I am completely incapable of talking to guys, and guys rarely, or never, talk to me, my friends say it is because I'm intimidating (5'10) and attractive, but where does this leave me? Guys won't talk to me, and I can't talk to guys so am I to die alone with 47 cats? I don't like this.

Ah, the only guys that do talk to me are overconfident jerks who think they're god's gift to the world.

Also how come it doesn't bother me at all that I've made no friends. And the friends that I already have, I don't have a great desire to see them very often or speak to them. I feel as if something is wrong with me.
